A blurred background is the latest photography trend. The newest smartphones offer modes that allow users to automatically blur the background to draw attention to the subject or object. This feature is also available on digital cameras; all you have to do is set a large aperture. If you do not have portrait mode on your smartphone or do not own a digital camera, you can use Pixomatic’s Blur tool to add blur to your image instantly. If you do not have Pixomatic, what are you waiting for? Sign up now.

3 ways to add depth of field with Pixomatic!

I – Manual

This option allows you to add blur manually.

1- Click on Blur, then select Manual.

2- Adjust the size and the strength of the brush by dragging the sliders to the left or the right.

3- Brush over the areas that you want to blur.

Pro tip: Zoom into the picture by pinching your fingers upwards to brush more precisely.

That’s the final result!

II – Radial

This option allows you to add blur around a specific radius. The subjects or objects that you wish to remain in focus should be placed inside the smaller circle.

1- Select Blur, then tap on radial.

2- Adjust the size of the circle by pinching your fingers upwards or downwards.

Here’s the final result!

III – Liner

This option allows you to add blur around two parallel lines. The subjects or objects that you wish to remain in focus should be placed between the lines.

1- Tap on Liner.

2- Change the distance between the lines by pinching your fingers inwards or outwards. You can also change the position of the lines by moving your fingers in a circle. The lines could be vertical, horizontal, or diagonal.
